The 190,000 SF headquarters for the affiliated O'Brien & Gere companies. Placed so that it is the focal point from both entrances to the development, it encloses the "open" corner of the site, so that its principal exposure is to the southeast - toward the sun and the views of the valley and hills south of Syracuse. the design used the natural slope to establish the middle of three levels as the main level, thereby optimizing vertical travel and providing grade access and windows for the lowest floor. This location is also prominent to the traveler along I-481, adjacent to the east.
The consistent horizontal design theme is an expression of the forms generated the site, the functional elements of the program and the relationship to the adjacent high-speed interstate from which the building is most viewed.
